December could serve surprises and delights at the start of the month. And if last month’s full Moon in your sign delivered the kind of surprise you didn’t expect – much less want, take it that what occurs around the 2^nd may more than make up for this. Ruler Venus now in your 9^th trines Uranus on this day. You’re embracing the party spirit from this point on. And also open and receptive to whatever (or who) comes your way.

What the previous months have shown you is that playing it safe really isn’t satisfying, Taurus. And that even if you do cling to the familiar, life has a habit of catching you unawares. So, you’re now in a space where you feel free to accept the challenge of the new and edgy. And dare to experiment! Letting go of hard-baked, set ideas sets in motion a whole set of new options for you this month. You embrace the different. And yes, that could literally include someone very different to the kind of person or even friendship, you’ve gravitated towards in the past. Also, releasing expectations means you also let go of disappointment as well. The cup is not half empty or half full. The cup is designed to be refilled. That’s the way you see it. And what delivers that fresh sense of happiness and satisfaction.

One of the best dates of the month comes on the 2^nd when ruler Venus in your 9^th trines Uranus in your sign. This is a day where you are filled with playful experimentation. A willingness to try or to take a chance. Who knew change could be so effortless and engaging? Or even what form it could take? Someone or something could appear that is literally an answer to a prayer or unspoken wish.

Big retrograde energy has seen you looking closely at finances. Gains may be slow but satisfying as they rest on your efforts. Do keep in mind what I said to you last month about getting your holiday shopping done before the Mercury retrograde hits if you can. If you have left it until now – at least wait until after December 15 and the full Moon in your 2^nd. This also sees Mercury begin to move ahead again. But it does still have to clear retro-shade.

The other retro energy is Mars – in full reverse in your 4^th from the 6^th. Upsets or simply you on a very short fuse could sour the festive vibe if you are not careful. If there are family tensions, do plan accordingly, Taurus. You might want to limit the amount of time spent with relatives who are overly-demanding or trigger you. Do look at what’s really behind any frustration. Of feeling that others are intrusive. Yes, by all means protect your precious energy and space. Don’t be afraid to say no if someone becomes too demanding. But if you reach boiling point especially mid-month, look at what is really behind all of this. Chances are its not what is happening in the here and now. But has its roots elsewhere. With something that has been pressuring you for a while. Go directly to the source to defuse!

The 4^th is highlighted for your social life as Venus aligns to Neptune. Its also a day to infuse those goals for the year ahead with spirited, inspirational energy. This is also a fabulous day to showcase your creative efforts as well as sliding into party mode. You’re embracing the holiday vibe from this point onwards.

Rewards for past efforts, your track record to date, and how you are ultimately valued and recognised will be Pluto in Aquarius and your 10^th themes from this point onwards. Being boss of your path, understanding the power lies with you to own it or direct it where you need it to go, is the awareness Pluto offers. This also includes not staying with something that doesn’t hand you what you are seeking.

But first – refine that Mission Statement, Taurus! Yes, you need to know where you are going and what your want to attain or achieve. This doesn’t have to be in a paid career. It can be your personal ambitions. Corporations set mission statements. What they intend as entities to do or achieve. With Pluto in your 10^th, you also need that clear declaration to the universe. This is me. These are my intentions. This is what I WILL do. Harness the power of your own certainty.

Take some time crafting this. And there’s no better time to do it than the two weeks leading up to the full Moon in your house of money and values (15^th). Venus enters your 10^th and meets Pluto on the 8^th. Close behind is powerhouse Ceres which also meets Pluto the day after. The Venus/retro Mars opposition across your 10th/4th house axis should show you your standing. Not just with your own ambitions and the inroads you’ve made. But also how you are rewarded and seen by others.

Look to the full Moon which conjuncts Jupiter as to what is actually on offer. Whether this is purely personal or how others show you how you are valued by offering actual material benefits – that bonus or end of year raise or promotion for instance. Look at your Mission Statement. Or now craft it in the light of where you find yourself. During Mars’ backwards motion through you 4th/3rd houses you can lean in and either consolidate your progress. Or begin to move towards living that statement for real.

You will refuse to be confined or even defined by any shortfalls between what is on offer and what you are aiming for. Optimism makes a welcome reappearance with the Sun’s arrival in your 9^th. You begin to plan for expansion. You meet the holidays with a reawakened feeling that you are n the brink of a big turnaround. And it isn’t wishful thinking either. As usual, your practical approach enables you to make the most of anything unexpected which may arise during the last week of December. There may be changes around plans or even a decision around a particular friendship or group on the 28^th. This could in fact be a sign-off point where you decide something is no longer for you. The new ‘Black’ Moon in Capricorn and your 9^th (30^th), is the most powerful pivot point for fresh new beginnings that any of us have experienced since 2008. This is because it is the first new Moon to appear in Capricorn since Pluto exited. For you, it’s all about the new which carries you forward on the wings of that mission statement. The emotions you feel are intense, adventurous, passionate and newly minted.
