Personally, I think that psychic readings done over the phone are a lot less likely to be influenced by all sorts of information that you can’t help giving away in a face to face reading. Before you’ve even said a word, whether they mean to or not, a psychic reader can read all sorts of things into your clothes and the way you carry yourself if you’re in front of them.
Visual influence
Unless you have a perfect poker face, your eyes and facial expressions are going to deliver millions of clues as the reading goes along. They say, let’s look at relationships, your face falls or lights up, and that’s enough to reveal volumes.
All of that is stripped away when you have a telephone psychic reading.
Psychic readers use all sorts of skills, but if they do use Tarot to give readings, you don’t have to handle the cards.

In any reading, whether face to face or over the phone, I think an exceptional psychic reader should be able to quickly tune in and say something that lets you know they have connected with you. In my book, they should say something that you feel is accurate and specific in the first few minutes.

That’s how I do intuitive readings. As you said if someone is psychic it doesn’t matter where you are in relation to them. I don’t see the work as making predictions, as more seeing and feeling what is holding the person back from what they desire. I tend to pick up the emotional and thinking patterns that surround the issue.
I also find that if hte person isn’t in front of me, I’m much less distracted by superficial things about them that could lead to confusion.
